‘Best ever’ Natures Way Food Chichester Triathlon Series

9 July 2015

Sunshine and smiles as record number take part in Triathlon, Try-a-Tri and Aquathlon events

With record numbers of participants and spectators, this year’s Natures Way Foods Chichester Triathlon Series was hailed as the best yet. More than 600 adults and young people took part over the weekend, including 36 teams.

Packed with sunshine and smiles, the series kicked off on Saturday 4 July with the Junior Aquathlon for young people aged 8 – 16. The event started with a swim at Westgate Leisure’s pool followed by a run around the Chichester College campus. On Sunday 5 July it was the adults’ turn, with the full distance triathlon individual and team events and the Try a Tri – a shorter distance triathlon.

Well done to our record number of participants and thank you to everyone who came along to support the events, as well as the wonderful volunteers.

Sarah Baldock, the Director responsible for NWF’s Community Programme, ”Natures Way Foods was at the event all weekend handing out complimentary bowls of fresh fruit to refresh participants and spectators, and cheering on our own teams who entered Sunday’s events.

“This year’s event has been a huge success, congratulations to everyone who took part. It was great to see so many people of all ages being active – and having fun.” Councillor Eileen Lintill, Cabinet Member for Community Services at Chichester District Council
