Natures Way Foods expansion will make Chichester company a major player

8 September 2015

One of the area’s most successful businesses is expanding.

Natures Way Foods is set to open its fourth premises in Chichester as part of the food company’s continued growth. The company is a leading manufacturer of fresh prepared fruit and salad products and currently operates three sites, one just outside Selsey and two just outside Chichester centre, in Runcton and in Merton.

The new site, which will act as a packaging warehouse for the business, will be based at Quarry Lane.

Since its launch 21 years ago, the business has evolved from a small bagged salad supplier to a state-of-the-art fresh food manufacturer which employs more than 900 staff members. It hopes this expansion will cement the company’s profile as a major player in the West Sussex and South East’s economy.

Susan Barratt, CEO of Natures Way Foods, said: “When Natures Way Foods was established in 1994 we were producing one million units per year. The business has grown significantly since then and 2015 marks a key milestone for us as we are now able to produce one million units in just 24 hours. Acquiring a new warehouse to store our packaging was the logical next step in our plans to expand the business.”

The new Chichester site forms part of Natures Way Foods’ ambitious plans to continue its growth in the market for fresh, convenient food.

In its 21 years of operating Natures Way Foods has become and leading supplier of fresh fruit and salad products to some of the UK’s largest retailers and food service companies.
